An industry revolutionary, Nick is responsible for coining the ‘courses to resources’ shift, introducing the affective context model of learning, and creating the 5Di© approach to human-centered learning design.
Nick began professional life as a psychology lecturer, then worked for Siemens, the BBC and BP in roles encompassing learning strategy, culture change, leadership, innovation, technology and multimedia. He established and led the learning innovation client service at PA Consulting, moving on to work as Chief Learning Officer for Deloitte in the UK before founding Shackleton Consulting.

Ben is the founder of the Talent and Leadership Club and a director at Grant Thornton, where he was formerly Head of of Learning, Perfomance and Talent.
The Talent and Leadership Club is one of the largest peer to peer networks for talent, learning and leadership professionals. Founded in 2006, it now has over 1,000 members, including leaders from some of the largest global businesses as well as a number of large NGOs and governmental organisations. ````````````````````
Ben's career has spanned a wide range of industries across both the public and private sector and has included a variety of international roles. He has acted as an advisor to organisations including Future Talent Learning and has worked closely with the LPI.

Jim Carrick-Birtwell is the CEO of both Changeboard, a business he co-founded in 2004, and its newer incarnation, Future Talent Learning. The DNA of the business has always meant being passionately purposeful about changing working lives. Future Talent Learning delivers employer-led virtual learning programmes to upskill organisations worldwide.
Jim is an active supporter and advocate of inclusive education-to-employment initiatives for both children and adults. He was concurrently the CEO of Plotr CIC from 2012 to 2016, a Number 10- and Cabinet Office- backed careers inspiration platform for 11-24 year olds. Jim is on the Advisory Council for The Foundation for Education Development and the Barclays LifeSkills Advisory Council.
Jim read English Literature at Oxford University, and has maintained a strong interest in the theatre and performing arts from his student days, when he spent most of his time directing and producing plays. He lives in Pembrokeshire with his wife, Rachel, and their two children.
