Enrolment Instructions for Line Managers [2024-2025]

By Future Talent Learning

Welcome to the programme.

Your role as a line manager is pivotal in shaping your learner’s development. The Line Manager Corner of the Programme Handbook outlines your role in this learning journey and contains all the information you’ll need to support your learner during the course of the programme. You have access to a Line Manager Hub, where you'll discover a carefully curated selection of events, resources, and practical guides tailored for line managers.

To help your learner prepare for enrolment, we have two steps for you to take.

Step 1: Enrolment Meetings

Your direct report is required to attend two Enrolment meetings with their coach. We ask that you join for Enrolment Meeting Part 2. You will meet your learner’s coach, learn more about the programme and sign two compliance documents.

The three compliance documents below outline the terms of the apprenticeship and the commitments made by the learner, line manager and training provider. These documents must be signed by all parties for the apprenticeship to begin and for Future Talent Learning to start the Levy funding.

Click on the tabs below to view template copies of the documents ahead of the meeting.

It's essential that you join the coach and your learner for Enrolment Meeting Part 2 - your learner won’t be able to start learning until the compliance documents are signed.

Your learner will liaise with you and their coach to schedule this.

Enrolment Meeting: Part 2 – 45 mins

Attendees: coach, learner & line manager

    • Welcome & introductions
    • Programme overview & commitments
    • Signing of key documents
    • Learner & line manager next steps (line manager can leave after this segment)
    • First day of learning task completion (note: this segment is recorded for compliance purposes)

Step 2: Create your Aptem Account

To access and sign the documents in the meeting, you’ll need to have set up an account on Aptem, our Learning Management System. You will shortly receive an email from email@aptem.co.uk with details on how to set up your account. If you don’t see the email in your inbox or spam folder, please speak to your IT team about adding the email address above to the ‘allow list’.

For help with the registration/account creation process on Aptem, please refer to this short video.

Setting up your account only takes a few minutes, and it allows you to sign the programme documents to confirm the start of the programme and trigger the levy funding.  Doing so ahead of our meeting will also save you time when we first meet.

Please note: if you are already a line manager for other learners on the programme, you will have existing access to Aptem, so there’s no need to register again.

We look forward to working with you. If you have any questions, please contact your learner’s coach.
